James Telford was tasked with the making of the chair and Samuel Leathwick with the carving. Brother Wood of the lodge dealt with the painting and gilding of the chair. The Senior Warden and Junior Wardens chairs, being similarly decorated, whilst it is not recorded it is assumed that these two chairs were procured at the same time and probably made by the same hands as the Worshipful Masters Chair

Now the property of Middleton Masonic Ltd. These Rare Chairs are for sale. As you would expect with a Rare set of Masonic Chairs that are 257 Years old, they command a high price.

Records of the lodge minutes show that in 1759 the members of the lodge ordered a chair to be made for the master. James Telford was tasked with the making of the chair and Samuel Leathwick with the carving. Brother Wood of the lodge dealt with the painting and gilding of the chair.
